For a state that can barely muster 250 metres (812 feet) in height, it's no small achievement that they've managed to build a ski resort in Rhode Island at all. However, Rhode Island gets cold winters and plenty of snow, and where there's snow, there's always somebody who wants to slide on it.
Yawgoo Valley is the state's only ski resort. It has twelve trails and four lifts and a 80-odd metre (245 feet) vertical. There's snow-tubing for kids (or adults who prefer to take their skiing lying down) and a terrain park with a range of jumps and rails, and its own rope tow.
