WANAKA, New Zealand (August 30, 2011) – Over 100 athletes have converged on Wanaka for The North Face Freeski Open of New Zealand, presented by Volkl, which begins with the slopestyle qualifiers and semi-finals on Thursday, 1 September at Snow Park.
Sunday 28 August, Mt Buller : An impressive line-up of athletes from across Australia and around the world gathered on the Summit at Mt Buller in glorious sunshine yesterday for the iconic James Boag’s ABOM Mogul Challenge. In it’s 23rd year this prestigious moguls event continues to attract a stellar international line up vying for the $8,000 prize purse.

Les 2 Alpes summer ski area is staging a ‘Snow Electro Fest’ from 28 - 30 July.
Described as, “a fun weekend at Les 2 Alpes with freestyle skiing and snowboard competitions and an electro-music DJ at 3,600m above sea level it will be a real festival on Les 2 Alpes glacier.” by a resort spokesperson, the Electro Fest will take advantage of the facilities available until late August at one of the world’s largest summer ski areas.

Sydney, Sunday 17th July 2011 – Jye Kearney, 18, from Jindabyne NSW has won the 6th Annual Burton Cattleman’s Rail Jam – the country’s biggest rail event - in a showdown between Australia’s best rail riders at Mt Buller last night.
Jye took out the title with a near flawless session that saw him stand out above the other 16 competitors on a level all of his own.

In the first ever big-mountain Freeride team matchplay event, Europe will challenge the Americas in Valle Nevado, Chile from 5-12 September, 2011.
This new competition will see the world's top male freeskiers going head-to-head in both big mountain freeride and back-country slopestyle formats.
The teams will be captained by two icons of the freeride world - Team Europe will be led by Kaj Zackrisson and Team Americas by Mark Abma.
