Miyagi
Miyagi, Japan
Capital City: Sendai
Closest Airport: Sendai Airport
Population: 2,370,000
Resort Area: Zao Mountains
Snow Season: Dec - April
Main Language: Japanese
Currency: Yen
Miyagi has a dozen resorts, around half of which are a decent size.
Most of these are found in the Zao Mountains, which become a snow sports mecca during the winter months. Miyagi gets light powder throughout January and February.
Some might describe the experience of riding down virgin powder covered slopes while admiring snow covered needle-leaf trees 'satisfying'. We tend to agree.
To top it off there are plenty of hot springs round here to treat your over-worked body.
